Lutheran
World Relief
From warm quilts to sweet chocolate, St.
John's is an active supporter of Lutheran World Relief (LWR). Here are some
of the ways that we support the work of the Lutheran church around the
world:
-
Quilters sent 138 warm quilts to
Lutheran World Relief. Contact Arleen Ziemer if you would like to help.
-
The Ruth Circle packed up your
donations of personal health care items into 38 Health Kits for use in
disaster areas.
-
Members bought 360 bars of fair
trade chocolate for Valentine's Day. Although the Ruth Circle suspects
that many of you ate the chocolate before you got out of the parking
lot.
-
Many of us purchase gifts, jewelry,
and food from the LWR Handcraft
Project. This project supports craftspeople in developing countries.
-
The congregation uses eco-palms
purchased through LWR.
-
Gifts to ELCA World Hunger Appeal help to support
LWR.
