Survive (and bond)

with your kids in church

We like having kids in worship. They're an important part of the family of God. (And Jesus seemed to enjoy having them around, too!) Every Sunday and holiday service has a "children's time" (which often appeals to adults too!)

Tips for worshipping with young children

Coming soon! But here is a teaser . . .

Anyone who has spent time eating with young children knows that they have to learn how to eat. They're noisy, messy, and break all the rules of etiquette. But if they were hungry, you wouldn't starve them just because they lacked refined dining skills. . .

Quiet Bags/Children's Bulletins

Quiet bags are available in the Gathering Space near the Usher's Table. Bags are filled with books, quiet toys, and activities to keep your toddler or preschooler busy. Sometimes a new toy is all it takes to help your child enjoy being church. Quiet bags are for children five and under.

Older kids can check out the children's bulletins for simple word puzzles, stories, and places to draw or doodle. The ushers have copies of these bulletins.

Cry Room

You can take a squirmy youngster to the cry room located in the back of the church. The entrance isn't easy to find! You must go through the Gathering Space, turn east through the double doors, turn left, and enter through the glass door straight ahead! (If it is your first time, ask an usher!) The cry room is equipped with speakers, lots of windows, a rocker, and a few simple toys.

Nursery

The nursery is staffed by the 7th and 8th grade Confirmation students and their parents. It is open from 8:30 till the end of the 8:00 service. Parents can also stay with their small children in the nursery at other times. The nursery is located downstairs near the south entry (the old youth room).
